Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

We first met Norman in 1983 when he popped his head over our back fence & introduced himself & Margie as our new neighbours. That was the start of a friendship lasting near four decades. Even their move to Cornwall & the 300 mile distance from Kent didn't diminish our friendship & we visited often. We remember & treasure our many holidays here & abroad & our cruising adventures. We loved playing cards when we were together & it was either a game of Crib or Whist along with (probably too much) Whisky. We remember Norman as a happy man whose 'silly' side was making up rhyming ditties & his 'sensible' side was a trusted person to go to for sound advice.
We are so thankful he moved to Watersedge Cottage all those years ago, our lives have been enriched by a lovely man & a beautiful friendship.
Norman was our dearest friend & we shall miss him.
